Due to the Virus, All our Branches Are Closed.
We are operating a full Mail Order Service and look forward to opening the shops again soon. Stay Safe!
These are unprecedented times and many businesses are struggling to survive and retain their staff over this period. Record shops are amongst the hardest hit with high overheads and very little money coming in.
Flashback has three stores and over 20 employees. All our shops have been closed since March 23rd. We hope to emerge blinking into the light once this is over and return to serving our customers the quality music we are known for. At the moment, no-one knows when this will be, and inevitably, the recovery will be slow when we do re-open, with social distancing measures and people’s fear of public spaces.
So we have decided to ask our loyal customers for help to get us through, so we can continue with all our staff and all three shops after lockdown.
Rather than a traditional crowdfunding campaign, we are making three new releases available on trusted music download site, Bandcamp on May 1st. Nominally these releases will be free, but we are asking people to make donations to help Flashback through the crisis.
Bandcamp are waiving fees from Friday 1st May at 8am to Saturday 2nd May at 8am, so all monies will go to Flashback. Alternatively, you can make a donation without having to download the music by PayPal transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org!
FB008 – 10 Track Album
Finally released after nearly 30 years, these are the first recordings of Todd Dillingham, legendary freak and psychedelic guru. Wild guitars and English whimsy combine in a mind-bending trip to space. With special bonus track ‘Who will buy my records when I’m dead?’ adding extra pathos after Todd’s untimely demise in 2018.
FB014 – 8 Track Album
Second album by North London duo, expanding and embellishing the template set out on their debut, Territories. With a more complex sound and sonic palette this sophomore album delivers what the first album promised. Hawtin’s songwriting has developed to a new level
FB015 – One Track Single
New Track from Indie-Proggers, Dinted. 'Here at my Door' was written last year, before the pandemic, and wasn't intended as a virus-related tune, but it kinda sounds like one. With trademark multiple sections in weird time signatures, married to London vocal styles and screaming guitars, ‘Here at my Door’ builds on the first EP released late last year.
